HELENA — A wildfire is burning north of Augusta, just south of the Lewis & Clark County and Teton County line.
The fire was reported on Sunday evening (March 9, 2025) along the 3100 block of Meadowlark Lane, several miles northeast of Augusta.
Initial reports indicate that high winds caused a structure fire to spread, and the Meadowlark Fire is estimated to have burned about 250 acres as of 11 a.m. on Monday.
These are early estimates that may change once crews are better able to survey the fire.
There is no word at this point on the suspected cause of the fire.
We will update you when we get more information.
