If regular season canceled, NBA, NBPA deal reportedly could withhold players pay

If the rest of the National Basketball Association regular season is canceled, players might be seeing fewer zero's on their upcoming paychecks.

According to ESPN , the NBA and the NBA Player's Association are in discussions to "withhold up to 25 percent of players' remaining salaries in a league escrow."

Teams last played on March 11 after Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive of the coronavirus before his team was getting ready to play the Oklahoma City Thunder in Oklahoma City. The game was canceled shortly before tipoff.

CBS Sports reported that there had possibly been talks about either playing in the Bahamas or Las Vegas.

If a decision doesn't happen before the next paycheck, which is April 15, players would continue to be paid in full regularly, ESPN reported.
