Helena's Floral Cottage changing locations

Many businesses across the state have had to close their doors, due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but one Helena business is starting from the ground up and plans on reopening in a brand-new location at 2620 North Sanders Street.

The Floral Cottage has been open during the entire pandemic, but owner Pamela Lee has quietly been working on plans to move her current location and build in a brand-new location at 2620 North Sanders Street.

Lee says this new location will provide more parking for her customers, as well as an opportunity to grow her own flowers right on the property.

Due to the pandemic, things are moving much slower than originally planned.

Lee says, "When we first turned it over to the architects for the building right about March, and then COVID-19 hit, and everything has just taken longer. I mean it is super exciting, but everything is taking longer than we anticipated."

Pamela has been a florist for 21 years, and she says the pandemic has completely changed the floral industry.

Due to social distancing guidelines, people are missing out on connecting with friends and family, and flowers have become a popular way for her customers to reach out and remind people they are loved.

She says, "It really is changing the whole face of how we do business and being able to adjust to that and find a source to help people."

Pamela is hoping to be all moved into her new location by this December.
