UPDATE: Police are still searching for a suspect that struck and killed a woman in a pedestrian-versus-vehicle crash on Rimrock Road late Friday night.
Officers responded around 9:39 p.m. to a "serious injury crash" on the 3300 block of Rimrock.
A later tweet just before 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning confirmed a 66-year-old Billings woman died at the scene of the hit-and-run.
Police are now asking for the public's help to locate the vehicle, which investigators believe to be a maroon 2005 Chevy Silverado, with damage to the front driver side area of the headlight. Additionally, the truck’s passenger rear tail/brake light was not working, according to surveillance video.
Rimrock Road was closed from Zimmerman Trail to Beartooth Drive while a crash investigation team was on scene. Rimrock Road was completely reopened for travel around 4:00 a.m. Saturday.
The Yellowstone County Coroner will have an identification of the woman after an examination on Monday.
21-000221 Rimrock Rd has been completely opened for travel.
