Montana Governor Steve Bullock and Montana Superintendent candidate Melissa Romano were in Missoula Monday for a Get Out the Vote event at Bonner Park.

Both the Governor and Romano were here to stress the importance of voting in this election.

One of the many reasons that this election is so important, education.

Bullock and Romano are Montana public school products, and both reminded the crowd that the future of public to private education in the state is on the ballot for this election.

They also support bringing Montana something other states in the country already have, pre-k.

"We need to make sure that we are investing in our K-12 system and also publicly funded pre-school which I’ve pushed along the way because it really does that’s what allows me to be up here its that great public education in Montana," Governor Bullock said.

"Research shows that when students can access a public pre-school experience they are set up far for the future far better for the future. They are more likely to earn more money over their lifetime and graduate from high school on time," Superintendent candidate Melissa Romano said.

To get Missoulians out voting Governor Bullock challenged the crowd to get their ballots in by informing them Yellowstone county has turned in more ballots than Missoula county so far.
