Concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the cancellation of one of Montana's most popular rodeos.

The annual Drummond Kiwanis PRCA Rodeo – which would have been marking its 79th year -- has been called off.

The event had been schedule for July 8 at the Gold Stan Pest 125 Arena in Drummond.

It's one of many rodeos that have been canceled on the PRCA schedule.

One upside is the three scholarship winners still were awarded their $500 toward their academic future.

Congrats to Kyla Kolbeck, Clay Fulk and Conley Wagner.

Next year's rodeo is set for July 11.
