BILLINGS - After a crushing defeat last year, ZooMontana announced on Tuesday that Ozzy the Grizzly Bear has retired from his position as Super Bowl prognosticator and Sid the Wolverine has been called up from the practice squad for the big event.
"After his devastating, incorrect pick last year, Ozzy has had enough," ZooMontana Executive Director Jeff Ewelt said in a press release. "However, waiting in the wings, an unexpected successor; Sid the Wolverine. This important responsibility now lays in the hands….er, paws, of this unique, strong, and incredible resident of ZooMontana."
Ewelt said the ZooMontana staff consider Ozzy a winner as he enters retirement.
"With an overall success rate of 75%, Ozzy secured his place in history as one of the elite animal Super Bowl predictors in the country," he said.
Sid will make his debut prediction on Monday, Feb. 1 at 9 a.m., choosing between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who face each other in Super Bowl LV on Feb. 7. Watch the game on Q2.
"Sid the Wolverine will choose between two pâtés’, both made of a delicious meat mixture," Ewelt said in the press release. "The pâté that is eaten first will be this year’s projected Super Bowl winner. Each pâté will be identical, ensuring no favoritism. Ahmari, ZooMontana’s female Wolverine, hates football and will have no part of this nonsense."
