Samaritan's Purse begins their National Collection Week on Monday, November 16th, 2020, for Operation Christmas Child.

This operation consists of collecting shoe boxes filled with items for kids such as school supplies and hygiene products.

Because of the pandemic, collection week will include curbside drop off to maintain COVID-19 guidelines. According to the regional coordinator, the organization is hoping for Helena to provide about 1,300 shoeboxes, over 12,000 shoeboxes from the entire state. Samaritan's Purse also allows anyone to purchase a shoe box and fill it all online.

“Well, the build-the-box online has been available for several years now but we understand more people are hesitant and reserved about being out and about,” says Greg Reinhardt, Regional Area Coordinator Volunteer for Samaritan’s Purse. “So, this is convenient and interactive. People can have fun.”

Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church is the location to drop off the shoeboxes. For more details on the collection, click here.
