BUTTE — Nine local Butte first responders are featured in the 2021 Mason Moore foundation’s calendar. The calendar’s theme is first responder families.

One of those families featured is Ray Vaughn, the Detective Sergeant of the Butte-Silver Bow Police department. Vaughn was featured with his son Riley, who is a detention officer of the Butte-Silver Bow Police department.

“The calendar’s a wonderful thing, I was very proud to do it and I was proud to be doing it with my son,” Vaughn said.

Vaughn also expressed how he had a great time during the photo shoot with his son.

"It’s kind of a neat thing to have- to be working in the field and then have your son starting to pursue the field also,” Vaughn said.

The money raised from the calendar goes directly to law enforcement to help them get the equipment they need to serve their communities.

“It was neat to kind of see the unity with first responders and it’s been one of the first things that [Riley’s] been able to partake in," Vaughn said.

Calendars are $15 each and available at www.MasonMooreFoundation.com

Deputy Mason Moore was a 3 year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office. He was a husband and father of 3 children.

Deputy Moore was shot and killed during a pursuit near Three Forks on May 16, 2017.

Lloyd and Marshall Barrus then led law enforcement on a chase that ended near Missoula. Marshall Barrus was killed in a shootout with officers.

Gallatin County law enforcement officers are also featured in the calendar.
