MISSOULA - A 10-year-old Florence boy was killed and two adults were injured in a car crash Monday between Missoula and Lolo on Highway 93.
The Montana Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. near mile marker 87 in the "S" curves.
A Mazda traveling south lost control and entered the northbound lane where it struck the back of a van. The Mazda then rotated before it was hit by another vehicle in the northbound lane.
The driver of the Mazda was ejected and taken to St. Patrick Hospital with serious injuries.
A 10-year-old boy died at the scene, while two other children were not injured, according to the MHP.
The names of those involved have not yet been released. The crash is still under investigation.

One person died in a late Monday morning accident on US Highway 93 between Lolo and Missoula.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports the fatal crash happened near mile marker 87 in the "S" curves.
Two vehicles could be seen along the side of the road at the old weigh station on US Highway 93.
Numerous emergency vehicles responded to the crash which was reported at 11:40 a.m., according to the MHP incident report website.
Traffic was delayed in both directions.
Numerous accidents were reported on Monday morning along Highway 93 between Lolo and Missoula.
The Missoula County Sheriff's Office also issued an alert early Monday afternoon warning of dangerous driving conditions around the county.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Bitterroot and Missoula valleys until 7 p.m. on Monday.
