Two people dead after crash in Ravalli County

Two people died in the two-vehicle crash on Wednesday.

Montana Highway Patrol Captain Shawn Silvan tells MTN News a pick-up truck was northbound on U.S. Highway 93 north of Woodside Cutoff at about 12:50 p.m. when the driver drifted into the southbound lanes, crashing into an SUV.

The driver of the SUV, a 32-year-old woman, was southbound on Highway 93 and died at the scene.

The 62-year-old male driver of the pick-up truck was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Bitterroot Health, where he died from his injuries.

Capt. Silvan says both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The names of the victims have not yet been released.

The Montana Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.


(1st REPORT, FEBRUARY 19) The Montana Highway Patrol reports that at least one person died in a vehicle crash in Ravalli County on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

The crash was reported to the MHP at about 12:50 p.m.

It happened near mile marker 52 of US Highway 93, at or near the intersection of Woodside Cutoff Road, about two miles west of Corvallis and five miles north of Hamilton.

At this point, there is no information about the number of vehicles involved or the suspected cause of the crash.

As of 2:45 p.m., the Montana Department of Transportation reports that traffic through the area is delayed as emergency crews work to clear the scene.
