BUTTE — Butte's faithful braved cool temperatures by attending an outdoor Christmas Mass early Thursday evening.
Butte parish priest Father Patrick Beretta led the mass held in the pavilion at Stodden Park with Christmas songs and prayers.
Even some live animals for the nativity scene were on hand.
Butte holds outdoor Christmas Mass with social distancing protocols
People wore masks and practiced social distancing during the mass that was held to celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
“Butte responds so enthusiastically to crazy ideas and we have absolutely marvelous weather, we're going to make sure every family is a separate one from the other so that we can do this with a good attendance, but do it safely,” said Beretta.
The priest added he was happy to see everyone wore a mask during the ceremony.
