Alberta Bair Theater approved for $20,000 grant to support artistic programming

The Alberta Bair Theater has been approved for a $20,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The grant was awarded to the theater through the Grants for Arts Projects, which supports artistic programming. The grant will help to brings artists such as D’DAT, Compagnie Hervé Koubi, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Raul Midón to the Alberta Bair Theater.

The New Mexico based quartet D’DAT is expected to perform at a socially distanced showing at the Theater on May 4. The performance will be limited to theater contributors only.

Hervé Koubi, a dancer who graduated from the Rosella Hightower School of Dance in Cannes, France, will be making his Montana debut in January of 2022.

The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir will also be making its debut in Montana, with a performance set for February of 2022.

Raul Midón, a Grammy nominated artists who has collaborated with artist such as Stevie Wonder and Bill Withers, is scheduled to appear in Billings this November.

According to representatives of the Alberta Bair Theater, the first performance that is open to the public is expected to be held Sept. 18, 2021. The featured artist will be Kristin Chenoweth. She was the original Glinda in the musical Wicked on Broadway.
