Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Wade Palmer has returned home.

Now that Palmer is back in the Treasure State, MHP command staff and Attorney General Tim Fox will discuss his return and update the public on what’s next.

The press conference is set to begin at 3 p.m. at the MHP Missoula District Office.

Palmer spent over two months at a Utah hospital as he recovered from injuries sustained in a shooting in March.

He had located a suspect in an earlier shooting that injured two and killed one in Missoula. He was then shot in the face, neck, and head.

During a Wednesday morning press conference in Salt Lake City, a physician said Palmer has made “remarkable progress, but he has a ways to go yet.”

A motorcade escorted Palmer to his home in Stevensville after he landed in Missoula around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.
