BOZEMAN – A construction worker was injured after falling through an elevator shaft on Montana State University’s campus Friday morning.

MSU officials confirmed the man suffered unknown injuries when he fell while working inside Montana Hall.

MSU Spokesperson Michael Becker said it was about a 30-foot drop that spanned three floors.

Crews are working on a renovation project inside Montana Hall that includes installing a new elevator.

The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital, but he walked out of the building on his own. He could still have injuries that MSU officials are unaware of, however.

The MSU Police Department and Bozeman Fire Department responded.
