GREAT FALLS – In a social media post on Friday, Great Falls native and former “Titan Games” star Matt Cable announced that he has been rediagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.

“I start chemotherapy tomorrow,” he wrote from his hospital bed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

“As you all know, I was deployed in a country where the air quality was the worst in the world,” he said in a Facebook video. “I don’t know if that had an effect on why my cancer is back or not, but you never know.”

Cable appeared on NBC’s “Titan Games” competition this past winter. He is a Great Falls High graduate who recently returned from a deployment with the Montana Air National Guard.

Cable was previously diagnosed with acute myeloid in 2014, leading to an induced medical coma from which he eventually awoke in what became part of a miraculous recovery.

“It’s unfortunate— but it’s time to fight,” Cable resolved in his post, saying he will do his best to keep his followers on social media informed on his condition.
