A Great Falls educator and legislator passed away Monday morning after a battle with cancer.

Jean Price was an artist, educator, and a leader. She taught art at Great Falls High School and Great Falls College MSU.

She served in the Montana House for eight years representing the east side of Great Falls.

Senator Jon Tester and Governor Steve Bullock both expressed their condolences Monday.

Great Falls City Commissioner Mary Moe served alongside Price in the legislature.

She said her friend was committed to helping others and never lost herself in the process.

“She was the same person in the legislature, before the legislature, and after the legislature,” Moe said. “She was just the most authentic, kind, and warm human being that I think I’ve ever met.”

Price was also an integral part in the urban art project in downtown Great Falls.

She was 75.
