Shepherd man dies in officer-involved shooting in Billings

BILLINGS, Mont. –  At around 2 p.m. on Sunday, there was an officer-involved shooting at the 2200 block of 1st Avenue North, killing one man.

According to Lieutenant Wooley of the Billings Police Department, 2 BPD Officers were investigating a suspicious call,  which resulted in a foot chase and exchange of gunfire with a 26-year-old Shepherd man.

The suspect died at the scene.

Neither officer was injured in the exchange of gunfire.

BPD Investigators are on-scene and expected to be present well into the evening hours.

Further details about this incident will be released at a later time –  during a press conference.

No additional information will be released tonight.

Chief St. John will be holding a press conference Monday, January 21 at 10:30 AM.

The conference will be held at the BPD Training Facility, located at 4810 Midland Road.
