Montana Ag Network Weather (1/25) Wind and more snow

Posted

High pressure just off the Pacific Coast is causing strong upper level winds over Montana  on Friday.

These winds will mix down to the lower elevations late Friday and Saturday allowing for temperatures to climb  back in the 40s.

A few area flurries are likely in the lower elevations on Friday, however little accumulation is expected.

The winds will remain strong on Saturday and Sunday ahead of our next weather system.

Winds gusts around 35 to 45 mph are likely this weekend.

Sunday afternoon another round of snow will push into the state from Canada.

This will likely start out as a wintry mix due to the warmer temperatures.

Plan on icy roadways by Monday morning.

Early forecast models are suggesting snow accumulations around an inch or two for most.
