Montana Ag Network Weather (11/16) Snowy day ahead

Posted

We are tracking rain this morning that will quickly turn to snow- just in time for our morning commute.

Rain will start turning to snow through the Northeast part of the state first before colder weather makes its way through Central and Southwest Montana.

Snow is already falling in higher elevations.

A cold front that has moved through will allow temperatures to continue dropping through the rest of the day.

Our highs have were already observed at midnight this morning.

By about 7 or 8 AM, temperatures will fall into the mid to low 30s, and that is when we will see more snow than rain in lower elevations.

Rain on roadways will freeze across the state, and this will make for some slick commutes by early afternoon through late tonight.

A breeze will pick up later this afternoon, and gusts will be around 20-30 MPH.

Our weather impacts will be: icy roadways- as rain freezes and snow covers icy areas, blowing snow, and reduced visibility at times.

Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through this evening for most of the state.
