Missoula PD seeking applicants for 2020 Citizens' Law Enforcement Academy

The Missoula Police Department is looking for people who are interested in taking part in the 2020 Citizens' Law Enforcement Academy.

The academy, which has taken place for over 20 years, is open to residents, business owners, fraternal organization members and non-profit organizations.

It includes an overview of the Missoula Police Department's activities including Uniform Patrol, Investigations, Special Teams, School Resource Officers, Crime Scene Investigations, the K-9 program, Community Service Specialists and Quality of Life, according to a news release.

There are also some hands-on activities, including a ride-along with officers and a training simulator.

The CLEA will be held Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. for eight weeks beginning on Jan. 15. The deadline for submission of the application is Dec. 24, 2019.
