Montana Highway Patrol trooper TJ Templeton responded to a crash near Piltzville along I-90 east of Missoula.
Fortunately, he said, there were no serious injuries, and it appeared to be a rather "routine" response to a crash - until a little girl reached out her hand.
The dashcam in Trooper Templeton's patrol car caught the moment, and he shared the brief video on Twitter, and wrote: "I’ve had many rewarding moments as a trooper. But this one... this simple gesture of a scared child reaching out to hold my hand. This one I cherish most. "
He explained in a comment on the Twitter post: "I completed a deer crash report for them, called a tow truck, and waited with them until they could all safely get home."
