Gallatin County’s Election Department has a few important messages for you to make sure your vote is counted this election.

This election is a by mail ballot only, meaning there will be no regular polling places open on election day.

If you haven’t already mailed your ballot, make sure you drop it off at a deposit location to avoid postal service delays.

Ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Nov. 5.

And if you plan on dropping off somebody else's ballot, be prepared to sign a ballot collection registry form.

“Voters can only deposit up to 6 ballots from people other than themselves, and they have to provide that registry form for anyone including spouses and other household members when they deposit that ballot at one of our places,” said Casey Hayes, elections manager with Gallatin County.

And make sure you sign your name on the back of your ballot envelope. Your vote cannot be counted without that signature.
