UPDATE 10:23 p.m. - A two-vehicle head-on crash on North 27th Street just north of the Rimrock Road intersection sent four people to the hospital in Billings around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

North 27th Street will be blocked off from the roundabout on Airport Road to Rimrock Road for the next few hours of the night while the Billings Police investigate.

Billings Police Lt. Brian Krivitz said the crash's investigation is in its initial stages.

But he could say a white 4-door Chrysler was traveling northbound on North 27th Street when for unknown reasons the driver crossed the center line.

The Chrysler collided head on with a silver 4-door Toyota traveling Southbound on North 27th Street.

The Chrysler was occupied by one male. The Toyota was occupied by a male, female, and young child.

Billings firefighters were seen using the jaws of life to free some of the crash victims. Krivitz couldn't say how many had to be extracted.

All four people were transported by ambulance to a Billings hospital.

Krivitz said speed is considered a factor in this crash but it's too early to tell if drugs or alcohol were involved.

Krivitz credited the Billings Fire Department and ambulance crews with American Medical Responce for their quick arrival and professional work freeing the victims.
