More and more local businesses are stepping up to help their customers and each other.
Over the weekend, MTN News told you about a group doing just that , and they are at it again.
Starting Wednesday, Urban Kitchen in Downtown Bozeman plans to give away meals for free to all customers between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
The restaurant’s staff say it began two weeks ago as a free family meal every Saturday for all industry people: those who lost their jobs, were displaced, or had their financial income cut.
That idea took off, now partnering with Home Base Partners, Daniel’s Meats, US Foods, Gallatin Valley Botanicals, House of Clean, Nina’s, University Burgers and Streamline Farms, Joe and Meg Romano and their staff say they will make it happen.
"This is a situation that we've sort of never been a part of before that we need to band together from a social distance,” says Joe Romano, co-owner of Urban Kitchen. “These are all local businesses that have stepped up and made some in-kind donation, whether it has been financial or whether it has been product, it is still helping us feed people every single day."
The staff asks that you call ahead on Wednesdays between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to make your order and plan on continuing the effort each week while supplies last.
