HELENA — Lewis and Clark County will have more sign ups for Phase 1b vaccination opportunities for individuals over the age of 70 on Friday at 9:00 a.m.
The county will be implementing a new registration platform that they hope will be more straightforward for residents.
“Much easier to use, much more user friendly” said Health Officer Drenda Niemann. “The supply of vaccines still remains very minimal which means we only have a relative handful of tickets to issue.”
Niemann says vaccination supply continues to be a hurdle with the Lewis and Clark Public Health (LCPH) only being able to offer 900 doses split equally on Tuesday Feb. 9 and Wednesday, Feb. 10.
Even though the county would like to see far more doses being administered, progress is being made.
“We’re getting close to covering that 70 and older age group which means in the next couple weeks we hope to move into the next tier which would be 60 and older with high risk medical conditions,” said Niemann.
LCPH will also be holding mobile vaccination clinics in Lincoln and Augusta on Friday Feb. 5 for residents of those communities that are over the age of 70.
The Lincoln clinic will be at the Fire Hall from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Augusta Clinic will be at the Augusta Youth Center from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
No registration is required for the rural clinics and they will operate on a first come first serve basis. LCPH also wants people to be aware that doses are limited.
