HELENA – Alumni of Central Elementary School left their mark on the school’s new building Thursday afternoon.
The students signed a spot on the concrete floor of the new gym just before construction workers finished placing the hardwood flooring.
The alumni varied in age, but most were current middle and high school students in the Helena community.
Former Central student and current Helena High School junior Keaten Wallace shared his thoughts on the new gymnasium.
“It’s pretty cool, the atmosphere is nice,” he said. “It’s nice to see all the old faces. People that you haven’t seen in forever.”
Later this year, students will return to the familiar downtown neighborhood as a new generation will be ushered into the new Central Elementary building.
