HELENA – Prickly Pear Land Trust started brewing “E-Trail Pale Ale” at Blackfoot River Brewing Company Thursday morning.

The ale that was crafted was created in inspiration for the “Don’t Fence Me in Trail Run” coming up on Saturday, May 11.

More than a thousand participants are expected to take part in this year’s trail run. The pale ale takes several hours to brew, and every drop sold directly supports Prickly Pear Land Trust.

During the E-trail run, participants can choose between running 30-K, 12-K, or 5-k. There’s even a dog walk for those who just want to get outside and enjoy the sun.

The E-Trail Pale Ale will make its debut on Friday, May 10, for the trail run preparty.

Evan Kulesa, trail coordinator for Prickly Pear Land Trust, said, “You know there’s nothing like finishing a nice, hard run and capping it with an ice-cold beer. That’s one thing people say here is that ‘every trail ends at a brewery,’ and Black Foot is one of those. And a nice, ice-cold, crisp, pale ale like the ‘E-Trail Pale Ale’ is a great way to finish your exercise.”
