HELENA – The City of Helena is taking steps to provide a more eclectic community with the new 2019 growth policy.

A meeting held Wednesday afternoon at the Storefront Studio in Last Chance Gulch discussed topics like affordable housing, economics, public facilities and business expansion.

This policy will map out the next 20 years for expansion.

It’s an additional build on the past success of the 2011 Growth Policy. The City hopes the road map into the future will better help residents, business owners, and investors adapt and navigate the development process.

Krys Holmes, executive director of The Myrna Loy, stated, “Much of our lives are so determined and shaped by the spaces that we live in, that it’s really great to be in on this on the bottom floor of this conversation while they’re figuring out, ‘How do we want that physical growth to go?'”

The next meeting is open to the public and the city would like all patrons of Helena to share their ideas about the growth expansion project.
