HELENA – It is with a heavy heart that the MTN family says goodbye to a friend and colleague.

Longtime MTN anchor and reporter Dennis Carlson passed away Friday at the age of 58.

Dennis was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer late last spring and battled the disease head-on ever since.

For most of his career, Dennis worked in broadcasting, including KBOZ Radio and for the Montana Television Network as a reporter, anchor and news director.

Dennis also worked as an elections clerk for Gallatin County, a field representative for U.S. Senator Conrad Burns and Government Affairs Director for the Gallatin Association of REALTORS®.

We will remember Dennis as an incredible journalist, a wonderful mentor, a trusted colleague and friend.

Dennis is survived by fiancee Laura Boltz and his children.
