With Piccolo's Music in Helena only open for pick-up orders or work on instruments that customers have dropped off, Scott Williams, a music instructor at Piccolo's had to think of something so he could still teach his students from afar.
"Lots of new things are happening this last couple of weeks," said Williams with a chuckle.
Williams is doing all of his teaching via video chat using applications like Skype and FaceTime, though moving from in-person to online lessons does have its challenges.
“There's some people who just can't," said Williams, when discussing how people have taken to the online lessons. "I've had a couple of people that have really tried to like get the Skype thing going and ... sometimes it's hard for them to hook up."
Though, those who are sticking it out with Williams as both he and his students work on the best way to work via video chat, are appreciative of what he's doing as everyone seeks an outlet during these times.
“When I learn the right chords and I play it right, it makes me feel happy, because I get one step closer to finishing a song that I like,” said Pelegigi Brown, a student of Williams.
