A school crossing guard in Great Falls got into the Halloween spirit on Friday to help kids get home from school safely.
Gary Schoenthal works as a crossing guard at Lincoln Elementary School in Great Falls.
On Friday, he wore an inflatable T-rex costume; he said he had been planning this for about two months.
When he asked the school’s principal about the idea, the principal thought it would be a great idea.
"With the COVID going on the way it is, the kids seem to be taking the brunt of the burden it seems like. We just need to have a little fun,” said Schoenthal. "That’s kind of what I wanted to do. I wanted to bring some smiles back instead of everything being so sad and gloomy.”
He hopes more crossing guards will dress up in costumes next year.
