On Saturday evening, emergency personnel responded to credible reports that a man had gone into the Missouri River.
According to the Great Falls Police Department, the man was not found, and the search has now been passed on to the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office.
There is still no word on whether the man fell or jumped into the river, and the investigation continues.
(JUNE 13, 2020) Emergency personnel are staged along and in the Missouri River for a possible river rescue.
We began receiving messages about it just after 5 p.m. on Saturday.
An officer at the scene says that they received credible reports that a man may have jumped or fallen into the river.
There are Great Falls police officers, Great Falls Fire Rescue personnel, and Cascade County Sheriff's Office personnel at the scene, with EMS personnel standing by near the river along River Drive near the skate park, police officers at the Central Avenue bridge, and also at West Bank Park.
In addition, a search and rescue boat is in the river.
At this point, no one has been found in the river.
