The Cascade County Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday that Leopold Somerfield, 75 years old, died on Sunday after being pinned by a truck.

The dispatch center in Great Falls was notified at about 6:30 p.m. by Teton County dispatchers of the incident.

A press release from the Sheriff's Office says that Somerfeld's son hadn't heard from his father in a while and went to check on him near the farm equipment, which was located near Love Road and Gunderson Road.

When the son arrived, he found his father pinned between the dump bed of the truck and the tires. The son told emergency responders that Somerfeld had apparently begun the process of winching the dump bed down, and the bed collapsed, pinning Somerfeld.

Somerfeld was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office has determined that the death was accidental, and said that all family members have been notified.
