The Great Falls Tribune will soon be printed in Helena, a change that will affect 21 employees.
Grady Higgins, editor of the Tribune, confirmed to MTN News that the Tribune has entered into an agreement with the Helena Independent Record newspaper to print the Great Falls Tribune in Helena.
He also confirmed that the Tribune is closing its production facilities in Great Falls, and that the 21 employees affected by the decision have been notified.
Higgins said the Tribune will work to connect the affected employees with resources to help them find new jobs, and opportunities will be made available to them, if possible, at other locations.
The first Great Falls Tribune newspapers to be printed in Helena will be on July 1st, for the July 2nd edition.
We do not know if the change will affect the timing of home delivery of the newspaper.
Higgins said that moving print production to Helena will not affect newsroom or advertising operations.
