The City of Great Falls Animal Shelter is participating this weekend in a national campaign called "Clear The Shelters."
The event is designed to promote adoptions and “clear the shelters” by finding forever homes for pets.
A press release from the City says that while the national event is slated for one day (August 17), the Great Falls Animal Shelter will be hosting a two-day event on Friday, August 16, and Saturday, August 17, from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on each day.
The shelter will be closed on Thursday, August 15, to prepare for the two-day event.
During the event, the Shelter is offering an adoption promotion where all cats and dogs can be adopted for only $10 plus a donation of your choice.
The low adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and a nametag for all pets four months old and older.
Adopters will also receive a small gift bag from Hill’s Science Diet while supplies last.
Great Falls residents will also be required to buy a City License at the time of adoption ($15 for one year). Current pet owners who are interested in adopting are asked to provide/bring proof of rabies vaccinations of their current pets.
“The aim of this event is to clear shelters by adopting as many shelter pets as possible. We are excited to be part of a national movement that has helped place more than 256,000 homeless animals with fur-ever families,” said Lynn Formell, Animal Shelter Manager.
