The Great Falls Public School Foundation announced the winner of a new pickup truck during last Friday night's cross-town football game between the Bison and the Rustlers.

Debbie Nichols was named as the winner of the raffle for the new Toyota Tacoma. The second place winner, Mark Rothwell, received a $1,000 gift certificate donated by North40.

Each year, City Motor Company donates a new truck to the GFPS Foundation to help in the “Win This Truck” fundraising raffle to enhance education.

Ticket sales began on July 1st and continued until the Crosstown Game between CMR High School and Great Falls High School. Tickets were $10 with a 60/40 split. Organizations receive $6 for every ticket they sell and the Foundation receives $4 which supports grant programs.

Great Falls High School cross-country coach Bob Stingley appreciates the extra funding the annual raffle brings to his team. "Our budget is about 895 dollars and so when you have 40 kids, that doesn’t go very far, so it just seemed like an easy way for us to pick up some money...win-win situation for us and the Foundation."

This year, the raffle generated $135,840, more than $16,000 over last year's amount.

Of that, $75,312 will be handed out as checks to the participating student and PTA groups. The top selling group this year was Great Falls High School football with 1,058 tickets. The top selling PTA was Mountain View Elementary School with 644 tickets.
