On Saturday, firefighters across Montana took to the streets for the annual "Fill The Boot" fundraiser to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The firefighters were stationed at several locations, including at 10th Avenue South at 9th Street in Great Falls, and in Vaughn.

They held out boots so that people driving by could drop donations right in.

Firefighters have been participating in the event for more than 60 years.

Last year, it's estimated that 100,000 firefighters took part in the fundraiser, resulting in about $20 million dollars.

Donations help fund Muscular Dystrophy research, support care centers, and sending kids with MD to a free, week-long summer camp.
