GREAT FALLS — The Children’s Museum of Montana in Great Falls will be hosting their annual "Chocolat Noir" fundraising event next month, but this year, it’ll look a little different.

The silent auction fundraiser that is usually a large gala event has been moved online this year due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Beginning on February 1st, gift packages ranging from kitchen tools to plane tickets will be offered on the museum’s Facebook page and their website.

Participants can place a bid on each gift item all throughout the month of February and winners will be announced at the end of the month.

The fundraiser is used to help fund scholarships and is used to help pay for the costs of the keeping the Children’s Museum open.

“It’s literally to replenish our scholarship funds and to help keep our doors open,” said Sherrie Neff, the director of museum. “We have a very low rate for our admissions in order to make ourselves accessible to everybody and this is a way to kind of subsidize keeping the lights on, the employees paid and doing all the great things, we have camps and classes and different things we offer throughout the year, fun events, and it helps keep what we do happening.”
