On Thursday, several business and civic leaders visited school campuses in and around Great Falls for the second annual "Business Goes To School" event.

Each leader was assigned a school and faculty member to shadow, gaining firsthand knowledge of the city's education system.

Architects, technology operators, and even KRTV’s Shannon Newth were among the participants.

They followed faculty members as they performed their daily duties, visited classrooms, and helped out with playground duty.

Jamie Schultz, the chief of technology at University of Providence, visited Giant Springs Elementary School and gained insight into the inner-workings of the institution.

“It's good to see where the kids have come from, to be honest. It's nice. I’m not a native of Great Falls or Montana, so getting to come in here and see what our education system's doing here, behind the scenes, is amazing,” Schultz said.

Giant Springs principal Rhonda Zobrak was paired with Schultz, and feels that the event is beneficial to not only business leaders but educational leaders as well.

“I just think there’s so much that happens on a day-to-day basis that when we’re not in it every day we don’t know. So it just builds that knowledge base for the entire community,” Zobrak said.

Zobrak feels that Schultzs’ connection with the University of Providence connects him to the educational system in its entirety.

“[With] Him being from the University of Providence, we can promote higher education and our community as a whole. We’re all in this together. We’re all working together,” Zobrak said.
