On 10th Avenue South on Saturday, you may have seen a bunch of boys fists pumping to get your attention to donate coats.

Assistant Scoutmaster Buzz Ritchie explained: “This is the annual coat drive Boy Scouts Troop One does for the Rescue Mission. We have done this for several years. It’s a great cause, the boys enjoy coming out here and the community supports us a lot. A lot of folks pulling in the parking lot donating winter clothes, and it’s just a great service project."

It’s the community generosity that drives events like this one.

Boy Scout Anderson Whetston said, “I was expecting that we would have a lot of coats and we are getting a lot of coats because everyone is being generous, and donating their unused coats.”
