Signs and stickers that say “Back The Badge” are now available at the Cascade County Sheriff’s office. A recent class of the Sheriff’s "Citizens Academy" decided to have the signs made as their class project.

There are 500 signs and 500 stickers, and they’re being sold to raise money for the Sheriff’s Legacy Foundation, which helps cover things the Sheriff’s Office budget can’t.

The signs are $10 each if you come to the Sheriff’s Office and pick them up; you can have them delivered for $25. You can also pay $50 and get a picture of the Sheriff or a Ssheriff’s deputy with the sign. The stickers are $5 each if you pick them up at the office or $10 if you want them mailed to you.

Businesses paid to have the signs and stickers made. Sheriff Jesse Slaughter explained, "We had a lot of community support. The exciting part is, they donated all that money to the Foundation. They did that so 100 percent of the sign proceeds go to the Foundation.”

Whether more signs and stickers will be made when the current batch runs out will depend on how fast the first batch sells.
