The Great Falls Police Department shared this heart-warming story on Facebook on Friday:

HOLIDAY HEROES! Captain Moccasin wants to brag on his team for a second, because none of these humble heroes would ever expect any recognition for their kindness.

This morning 911 dispatchers took a call from woman who needed officers to respond to take a report. The young mother of two told the dispatcher that her car had been broken into overnight and all of the Christmas gift she had purchased for her children were taken.

The dispatchers could tell the victim was devastated. She told them she works two jobs to provide for her kids and she had no means to replace the gifts.

As soon as they ended the call the dispatchers reached into their own pockets to help. Officers that responded to the scene followed the dispatchers’ lead and rounded up even more from the officers on shift.

Then, when they heard what was happening, members of the Executive Board of the Great Falls Police Protective Association (host of Shop With A Cop) and First Interstate Bank pitched in, bringing the grand total to $750.

Only an hour and a half after the call came in to our dispatch center, Team GFPD was able to deliver this generous gift to the young mother.

Officers at the scene report the mom was extremely grateful amd moved by the generosity. #NotAllHeroesWearCapes #SecretSanta #IAm911
