The Montana Highway Patrol says a 20-year-old man was killed early Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash near East Helena.
Troopers believe the crash happened between midnight at 3 a.m., at the corner of Shoshone Drive and Remington Street. They say the driver was going south on Shoshone and failed to make the right turn. His GMC Sierra truck ended up in a pit on the south side of Remington, the front left tire blew out, and the truck turned onto its side.
MHP says the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected. They say he suffered fatal head injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash was initially reported to MHP just before 6 a.m. Troopers say it is still under investigation, and that alcohol is a suspected factor.
