MISSOULA — The subject of a Western Montana manhunt is now in custody.

The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office reports that 19-year-old Treylind James Lafley -- who was the subject of an overnight search in the West Riverside and Bonner area – has surrendered to authorities.

Lafley, who authorities considered to be armed and dangerous, surrendered and was taken into custody without incident at approximately 1130 a.m. according to a news release.

"This morning we were able to finally get in contact with him and negotiate a safe surrender. By the time we got in touch with him, he knew what the deal was and was ready to give up. We got the only people that we know were involved in custody," Missoula County Sheriff's Office Detective Captain Dave Conway told MTN News.

Lafley and 19-year-old Scout Moon French – who was arrested on Monday -- are believed to be the two suspects involved in over a dozen theft from motor vehicles and a residential burglary that occurred late last week in the Lolo area.
