A judge set bond at $100,000 for a man accused of robbing a Helena business.

Rudy Lopez, 43, appeared via video in Lewis and Clark County Justice Court on Monday.

Just before 11 p.m. Saturday, Helena police received reports that Taco John’s on North Montana Avenue had been robbed at gunpoint.

Employees told police that a man matching Lopez’s description pointed a gun at two employees, ordered two of the three employees into the cooler, and demanded cash.

Officers located Lopez nearby and arrested him. They recovered a BB pistol.

Lopez faces five felony charges including three counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of aggravated kidnapping, and one count of robbery.
