The Missoula City-County Health Department (MCCHD) on Tuesday morning reported 105 additional COVID-19 cases since the Monday update.
There are currently 946 active cases with more than 1,500 close contacts.
Sixty-three of the 105 currently active cases are associated with University of Montana staff, faculty, and students.
MCCHD confirmed on Monday that four additional COVID-19 deaths occurred in the county over the weekend.
Thirty-six people are currently hospitalized in Missoula County with COVID-related complications, 21 of whom are county residents.
MCCHD reports a total of 3,061 cumulative cases. There have been 2,084 recoveries and 31 COVID-19 related deaths to date.
Health officials report they are continuing to see active cases arising from close contact with known cases.
According to a news release, more than 60% of the currently active cases are the result of contact with an existing COVID-19 case.
Additionally, nearly 60% of all currently active cases are associated with folks 20-49 years of age, according to MCCHD.
The Missoula City-County Health Department’s COVID-19 response will continue uninterrupted on Veterans Day.
The call center and the Flynn Lane clinic will operate as normal from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Additionally, case investigation and contact tracing efforts will also continue as normal.

MCCHD and other community leaders set a goal for decreasing the weekly average COVID-19 case count to no more than 25 cases per 100,000 individuals.
MCCHD issued a revised Public Health Order in regards to face masks as well as new restrictions on senior facilities on Oct. 15.

MCCHD is urging people to continue practicing health and safety behaviors:
- Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently.
- Keep at least 6 feet of safe space between you and others as the environment permits.
- Wear a face covering that's fully sealed around your nose and mouth.
- Remember that physical spacing does not replace face coverings - these are tools to be used together for maximum efficacy and safety.
