GREAT FALLS — The American Red Cross is giving you an opportunity to win a trip to the Super Bowl next year. Anyone who donates blood in January will be entered to win a getaway to the game.

If you donate on or before January 31, you are automatically entered for a chance to win two tickets to the 2022 Super Bowl in Los Angeles, California.

And if you donate blood by January 20, you could also win a 65-inch TV and $500 to watch the game at home.

The Red Cross partnered with the NFL to create this nationwide offer as a way to address the need for convalescent plasma. The plasma comes from the blood of people who have been infected with COVID-19 and recovered and is used to help treat people with the virus.

All blood donation appointments in Great Falls were full as of Tuesday, but there were some appointments in surrounding areas.

"We're very thankful and we're really encouraging people to try and make an appointment if possible. With the COVID stuff going on and social distancing, we want to make sure that we spread things out,” said Scott Shanahan, Great Falls Red Cross Donor Recruitment Representative.

The Red Cross also needs volunteers to help with blood drives, especially in rural areas; click here to learn more, or call 800-733-2767.
