HELENA — Big Brothers Big Sisters began their signature Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser in Helena.

Due to the pandemic, the organization has changed the structure of the event. They have bowling teams maxed out at four people every other lane.

The group has also added a virtual option to the fundraiser. Participants can play a virtual bowling game while raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The organization says the pandemic may reduce their event, but will not stop their fundraising goals.

“Our favorite saying is 'It's not about the bowling, it's about the kids.' Our program and fundraising might look different this year, but the need in our community is still here," says Kelly McDermott, the Development Coordinator at Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Big Brothers Big Sisters say they hope to grow their program in 2021 by completing an ambitious goal, to enroll 30 “Bigs” within the next three months.

The organization has also introduced a new fundraising event for the month of February, Ski for Kid’s Sake.
