An approaching band of heavy snow may put a damper on any Valentine’s Day dinner plans.
Snow will continue to move to the northeast through the night, with lingering snow showers into Friday.
Difficult travel is expected as the band of snow moves through.
Roads will become slippery, and visibility will be reduced.
Most of our area is in line for 4 to 6 inches of accumulation.
Lesser amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected toward Helena and Glasgow.
Locally higher amounts, especially at higher elevations, are possible.
Blowing snow may be an issue as the heavy snow band moves through.
Given these hazards, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory.
